Eugene Ysäe, a violin virtuoso admired by all his contemporaries, was an inheritor of the Belgian school of violin, whose influence dates back to the early 19th century. While renowned as a performer, Ysäe's contributions as a composer are less widely known. This boxed set explores his legacy as a composer, presenting his works for solo violin and orchestra, including two movements of violin concertos available on record for the first time, alongside chamber music.
