Description
Venom - At War with Satan
Venom, a seminal band formed in Newcastle upon Tyne in 1979, emerged towards the end of the new wave of British heavy metal. Their early albums, ‘Welcome to Hell’ (1981) and ‘Black Metal’ (1982), are widely recognized as foundational influences on thrash metal and extreme metal genres. The title of their second album even lent its name to the black metal subgenre. Revered by numerous influential bands including Metallica, Behemoth, Celtic Frost, and Mayhem, Venom stands as one of the most significant bands of their era.
About the Album:
Originally released in 1984, 'At War with Satan' is a pivotal release in metal history. This third studio album from Venom masterfully combines the band's characteristic proto black/thrash aggression with an ambitious, side-long composition that pushed the boundaries of heavy music. This edition features the album on 140g gold vinyl, presented in a gatefold sleeve with an accompanying booklet.
