Paul Pena - Paul Pena [Vinyl]

Different Strokes For Different Folks proudly presents the first-ever vinyl reissue of Paul Pena's highly sought-after self-titled debut album, originally released in 1972. This essential R&B & Soul record showcases an astonishing blend of strident bluesy funk, mid-tempo piano ballads, revolutionary soul, and acoustic gospel hymns, all anchored by Pena's deep, rich vocals and high-class songwriting.

Fans of Curtis Mayfield, Terry Callier, and Bill Withers will recognize this as a true classic that has been neglected for decades. This reissue captures the diverse artistry of Paul Pena, who was also known for writing Steve Miller Band's hit 'Jet Airliner' and whose life was documented in the Oscar-nominated film 'Genghis Blues'.
