The Boneshakers - Pull Up the Roots: The Berlin & Hotel Session [CD]

The Boneshakers’ Pull Up the Roots: The Berlin & Hotel Session is a six-track blues rock CD, recorded with an intimate, acoustic approach. It suits listeners drawn to blues, soul and rock & roll, with Jenny Langer on vocals and Randy Jacobs on guitar.

For their second release on Gulf Coast Records, the band favour raw performances over polish, letting the chemistry and musicianship come through. The sessions were recorded primarily at Kaleidoscope Studios in Berlin, with additional performances captured in U.S. studios and hotel rooms between shows.

Produced by Jacobs, Langer and John Wooler, the collection brings together originals and reinterpretations, blending Detroit soul, New Orleans groove, blues and rock & roll swagger. Collaborators include Holly Montgomery, Arthur Thompson, Joe Sublett, Mark Pender, Jon Gilutin and Oliver Leiber.
