The Royston Club - Songs For The Spine [Audio CD]

The Royston Club return in Summer 2025 with Songs For The Spine, a soaring, emotionally-charged second album that marks a bold evolution for the Wrexham-based band. Opening with the dark, euphoric love song 'Shivers'—reminiscent of The Cure at their most transcendent—the album sets a tone of raw intensity and emotional depth. Recorded at Liverpool’s Kempston Street Studios with acclaimed producer Richard Turvey (Blossoms, The Courteeners) and released via Run On / Modern Sky Records, this is the sound of a band at their peak. Following their Top 20 debut Shaking Hips and Crashing Cars and a sold-out UK tour in 2024, The Royston Club emerge tighter, louder, and more soul-baring than ever. Tracks like 'The Patch Where Nothing Grows' and 'Crowbar' blend indie urgency with disco nostalgia, while 'Cariad' and 'The Ballad Of Glen Campbell' close the record with cinematic grace. Centered on love, loss, guilt, longing, and joy, Songs For The Spine embraces imperfection—captured through live takes and unpolished edges—to deliver a human, urgent, and ambitious statement.
