Clannad - Legend

Experience the BAFTA award-winning eighth studio album from Clannad, 'Legend,' originally released in 1984. This iconic album serves as the captivating soundtrack to the cult British television series ''Robin of Sherwood.'' The music masterfully encapsulates the mystical and atmospheric essence of the show, seamlessly blending traditional Irish folk melodies with contemporary sonic elements. Clannad, celebrated for their ethereal and haunting musical style, employs a rich tapestry of acoustic instruments, lush vocal harmonies, and synthesizers to forge a soundscape that is both otherworldly and deeply immersive. The album transports listeners to the legendary world of Robin Hood, brought to life by the distinct contributions of band members Ciarán Brennan, Máire (Moya) Brennan, Pól Brennan, and siblings Noel and Pádraig Duggan. Standout tracks such as ''Robin (The Hooded Man)'' and ''Together We'' exemplify Clannad's exceptional ability to intertwine narrative with melody, evoking the spirit of adventure and romance inherent in the Robin Hood legend. Máire Brennan's enchanting, ethereal vocals add a captivating layer, further enhancing the album's profound mystical quality.
