The Odyssey (Penguin Classics)

The epic tale of Odysseus and his ten-year journey home after the Trojan War forms one of the earliest and greatest works of Western literature. Confronted by natural and supernatural threats, including ship-wrecks, battles, monsters, and the enmity of the sea-god Poseidon, Odysseus must utilize his bravery and cunning to reach his homeland and overcome the obstacles awaiting him.

This edition features the translation by E. V. Rieu, which was the very first Penguin Classic published, now revised by D. C. H. Rieu. The volume includes an introduction by Peter Jones.
