Paul Gilbert - Tribute To Jimi Hendrix [Vinyl]

Experience the spontaneous, electrifying performance captured live when guitarist Paul Gilbert stepped in as headliner at the Frankfurt Jazz Festival. This vinyl release documents an unexpected set where Gilbert, with only hours to prepare, delivered epic jams based on Jimi Hendrix songs.

On 2 June 1991, Paul Gilbert arrived at the Frankfurt Jazz Festival expecting to trade solos with blues legend Albert Collins. When Collins cancelled unexpectedly, the promoter asked Gilbert to headline. With no prepared set, a backing band was quickly assembled using members of Ten Years After, allowing Gilbert to rehearse and stretch Hendrix songs into memorable, epic jams.

• Captures a unique, high-energy live performance from Paul Gilbert.
• Features improvised, extended solos over Jimi Hendrix material.
• Spontaneous set born from an unexpected headlining opportunity.

This release is presented on a single LP record format, manufactured by Music Theories Recordings.
