Celebrate the 40th anniversary of their initial formation with the return of the influential Norwegian duo Darkthrone. Fenriz and Nocturno Culto deliver 'Pre-Historic Metal,' an opus of high-calibre old metal that continues the mastery witnessed on their 2024 release, 'It Beckons Us All.'

As Fenriz describes the title, 'Prehistoric is a loose term. I just figure it's our VIBE, our take on things & it's more a statement that we use old style to create something new.' This album features eight tracks of primal epics and gargantuan riffs, steeped in the organic sound and permeating spirit of 70s and 80s metal.

Production Details

This edition of 'Pre-Historic Metal' is presented on limited black & white splatter vinyl. The album was recorded at Chaka Khan Studios, Oslo, with production work conducted by Ole Ovstedal, Silje Hogevold & Mads Luis. Mastering was carried out by Jack Control at Enormous Door, and Maor Appelbaum Mastering.
